By standing you remain with the cards you've been dealt initially. By splitting you break two cards of the same kind. When you split it is required that you place the exact amount of your bet on the new hand created by the split. Surrender is not available on all online blackjack sites. When you double, your bet is increased two fold and you can take another card.
