Badugi: A Practical Game with Entertainment

A Badugi game is played at a table with one dealer and up to ten players. The game begins by the dealer dealing four cards to every player face down, only after the big and small blinds have been posted. Think of the blinds as antes, meant to speed up the game by avoiding every player anteing every hand. In the first round of betting the player to the left acts first. One may call the big blind, raise, or fold. In subsequent rounds the small blind acts first After the betting is done players can draw new cards. Once again another betting round happens and players can draw more cards. During the game players have three opportunities to draw new cards. The Badugi rules for betting are quite simple.

Badugi games are normally limit, no-limit, or pot limit. This refers to how much money can be bet at any one moment. Just like playing Speed Texas Hold 'em you need to develop a Badugi strategy. Remember not many people are very efficient at calculating the odds of this new game Badugi, so make your money while you can. With a little luck, you will get a Badugi hand dealt straight to you and you won't need to draw any cards although this is rare.

The best way to learn Badugi is to use the poker site providing the game and save your money by practicing playing in the free mode. I am sure you will enjoy it.
